Intern 101: Equipping Law Students for Success

On 20–21 August 2024, the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Thailand hosted INTERN 101, a two-day virtual event aimed at preparing law students for successful internships and careers in the legal profession. This event was carefully designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal field, led by experts and top law firms.

What the Experience Entailed

Over the course of two interactive days, participants were immersed in a series of sessions tailored to equip them with practical knowledge and skills essential for their future careers:

• Resume Tutorial: A hands-on session to help students craft professional resumes tailored to the legal industry, ensuring they stand out when applying for internships or positions at prestigious firms.

• Experience Sharing: Legal practitioners shared their journeys, offering insights into their career paths, challenges, and successes to inspire and guide participants.

• Practice Group Introductions: Invited law firms and experts delivered in-depth sessions on specific legal practice areas, including:

  • Tax Law

  • Intellectual Property (IP)

  • Litigation

  • Corporate Law

  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Capital Markets

  • Banking and Finance

These sessions provided participants with a clear understanding of the diverse opportunities within the legal profession and what it takes to specialize in these areas.
